Isn’t it odd that new (regular) Terminators are floating around for such a long while now, but no sign of live for new Assault Terminators? I had my hopes high when I first heard of a new wave of Blood Angel models a while ago, but as we all know, that only brought us pain. (And not even winged pain!)
And while it seems that the Space Wolves might get new Terminators in the future, they will have again different loadouts and might come packed with specific iconography and such.

So like many other people out there, I came to the conclusion that I need to build Assault Terminators by my own. And luckily, I got my hands on the Dark Angels Christmas Box – The Inner Circle Task Force!

And here’s why I’m so happy about it and why I think it’s a perfect base for many cool Blood Angels conversions.

The box comes with 10 Terminators (Deathwing Knights) and 6 Inner Circle Companions. This will make 10 Assault Terminators and I will convert 6 new Sanguinary Guard from the Companions. The Terminator Chaplain is also a great addition to my army since I lack one still and only the Lion will rest again for now. (But hey, he’s old and surely needs his regular nap).

The Assault Terminators

The Deathwing Knights are by themselves really cool miniatures. Lucky for me, they only contain very few Dark Angel specific iconography. Of course you can’t use the shields and the right shoulder pads, but beside those, only the chest area shows their real heritage. And this you can relatively easy file away.

This being sad, we are left with only a few tasks.
